Oatmeal Raisin Bread Jar

Make sure you have a sterilized 1 quart or 1 liter jar. With a good lid.

Dry Ingredients:

• Pour 3/4 cup of flour into the jar
• Add 1/2 cup of wheat bran
• Add 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• Add 2/3 cups of raisins
• Add 1 1/4 cups of quick oats
• Combine 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and 2 teaspoons of baking powder in a small bowl.
• Pour mixture into the jar.
• Add 1/4 cup of walnuts
• Clean the top of the jar and place the lid on tightly.

To make the Oatmeal Raisin Bread or Muffins follow this recipe

Wet Ingredients:

• 1 jar of Oatmeal Raisin Bread Mix
• 2 large eggs
• 1/4 cup of oil
• 1 1/4 cups of buttermilk

Method:

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a large loaf pan . Mix all the liquid ingredients together. Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the liquid to the dry. With a wooden spoon combine all the ingredients together. Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake for 50 minutes or until a knife is inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean. Remove the loaf from the pan and place on a wire rack and cool.
