Whole Wheat Banana Bread Recipe: Makes 1 loaf

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup mashed banana
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour

Method

Add the lukewarm water to a bowl. Stir in the honey. Now, sprinkle the yeast on top and set aside for 8 minutes. Add the oil, salt and 1 cup of whole wheat flour. Stir till the dough is smooth. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes. Pour out onto a floured surface and slowly add the rest of the whole wheat flour till a ball is formed. You do not want the dough to be to sticky. Grease a 5x9 bread pan and place the dough into the pan. Cover the dough. Allow the dough to rise till about 1 inch above the rim of the bread pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or till you insert a thermometer into the middle of the bread and it registers 190. Cool.
