
: In a small bowl add lukewarm water, sprinkle yeast on top and set aside.In a saucepan add milk, heat till scalded (do not boil) add milk to a large bowl and add butter. Allow the butter to melt. When milk becomes lukewarm add the yeast mixture and stir. Add 3 cups of flour, salt and sugar. Mix for a few minutes. Add beaten eggs 1 at a time till all combined. Add remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time. Being sure to mix with a wooden spoon. When dough becomes tough to mix. Place onto a lightly floured surface and knead in rest of flour. Knead for 8-10 minutes. Place dough in a greased bowl cover till double in size. Punch down and gently add raisins. Shape into 2 loaves. Place on a greased cookie sheet. Cover and allow to rise again. Cook in a pre-heated 350 F for 1 hour.
