
Add chopped rhubarb, water and white sugar to a saucepan and cook over medium heat. Once rhubarb is soft, set aside to cool. Add brown sugar, egg and oil. In a large bowl sift together flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves. Add chopped nuts. Pour into a greased pan and bake at 350 F for 1 hour or till toothpick is clean when inserted and removed.
