Using a large saucepan add 2 cups of water and the oatmeal. Bring to a boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and pour the oatmeal mixture into a large bowl. Set a side and allow to cool to lukewarm (110 F). Add the remaining 1/2 cup of lukewarm water to a bowl. You can add a 1/2 tsp. of sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and set a side for 5 minutes until dissolved. Add orange rind to a blender, try to remove all the white of the orange so you only have the orange part. Add 2 tbsp of water and blend till finely chopped. Add the yeast mixture, salt, orange peel, butter and molasses to the oatmeal mixture. Stir in the lukewarm milk (110 F). Slowly add the barley, rye and white flour. Mix to a soft dough. Pour out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8 minutes. Place into a oiled bowl. Cover, and allow to rise for about 1 hour. After punch down dough and divide into 3 equal parts. Place on a greased cookie sheet and shape into round loaves. Cover, allow to rise again for an hour. Bake in a preheated 375 F oven for 35-40 minutes.
